MEET OUR FEATURED #BOSSBAES AT SIP & SLAY DECEMBER 2016

TAM THYME IS AN ORGANIC HERBAL PRODUCT LINE OF TOPICALS, SOAPS, TONERS AND TINCTURES

BOSS BAE: TAMAR SAUNDERS || OWNER OF TAM THYME

A NOTE FROM TAMAR: Before September 2011, there was no shortage of harsh chemicals, preservatives, parabens, etc that I would coat my hair and skin with. The food I ate was also no exception before I decided to try to eat organically grown produce and hormone-free meats. After reading  "The Green Beauty Guide: Your Essential Resource to Organic and Natural Skin Care, Hair Care, Makeup, and Fragrances" by Julie Gabriel, I was inspired to clean up my daily beauty routine and diet. I also started gardening more and took up an herbal apprenticeship course to better serve my internal and external natural routine. Don't get me wrong though - I still enjoy the occasional In-n-Out burger and it is still hard to part with my favorite shade of MAC lipstick.  In addition to the actual products, TamThyme is many things. It is a lifestyle blog exploring the natural and organic processes to maintain our hair, bodies, and spirits. I document my journey through this blog and informational site to serve as inspiration for others and hopefully to foster a community of exchange in some of these experimental endeavors. I celebrate the diversity of hair types, textures, and styles. I also have a deep love for plants and herbs and how they can naturally enliven our daily life routines, including body and hair care. An entrepreneur at heart, I am involved in many things. I addition to running TAM thyme, I am also currently working in real estate and rehab financing. When I have time to breathe, I am usually just holding my breathe again doing Masters Synchronized Swimming. Any time after that is spent decompressing in my garden or over my sewing machine.

BOSS BAE: DIANA SAGINI || OWNER OF SAGINI DESIGNS

SAGINI DESIGNS IS A LIFESTYLE BOUTIQUE OFFERING DIVINELY INSPIRED ADORNMENTS. ALL JEWELRY IS 100% HANDMADE. THE ESSENCE- AFRIKANESQUE. A STYLE WITH VINTAGE FLAIR THAT IS INSPIRED BY DIANA'S AFRICAN ROOTS , AND INFLUENCED BY HER WORLD TRAVELS.

A NOTE FROM DIANA: I am a Kenya native who currently resides in Los Angeles. My passion for designing jewelry began in 2010, after what I refer to as a cathartic moment that changed my life forever. At the time nothing came easy including breathing. A friend recommended that I find a hobby to help get me out of my head space. After several failed attempts, I discovered that beading and metal work provided a safe meditative space that I could not find elsewhere. Therein a passion was born. A chance trip to The Darien Jungle in Panama presented me with the opportunity to observe and learn intricate beadwork from a talented Indian tribe in the Arimae Embera Village. The trip served as the foundation for my mission to channel life's experiences into wearable art. Every one of my pieces is designed with purposeful intentions to uplift the lives of others through sustainable economic empowerment. By creating wearable art, I aim to evoke collective individualism that connects the wearer to mother earth and the common dreams we all share - love, peace, happiness and the desire for success. I have a dual degree in Finance & Marketing. I am determined to succeed and help other artisans like me realize their dreams can come true. My mission through Sagini Designs is wholeheartedly bringing to the market conscious retail that lives up to my promise, AUTHENTIC. BOLD. AFRIKANESQUE.

DO YOU WANT TO BE A FEATURED #BOSSBAE AT OUR NEXT EVENT ?

In addition to supporting our #BossBaes, we will be teaming up with a local charity to support a different cause at every event. The proceeds from this December's event will be going to the Los Angeles chapter of        House of Ruth.

House of Ruth is a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting women, children, and families victimized by domestic violence in the Los Angeles community. In operation since 1977, House of Ruth seeks to end the cycle of domestic violence and promote healthy relationships through support, education, and community outreach. Their programs are completely free of charge and available to battered women, children, and men with no discrimination on the basis of race, ethnicity, gender, age, language, disability, religion, national origin, medical condition, marital status, veteran status, or sexual orientation. Please visit www.losangeleshouseofruth.com to learn more. Contribution is optional, but of course we would love for your participation to help make a greater impact. The House of Ruth has provided us with a list of items that the women, children & families that they assist are in need of. If you decide to contribute, we are asking that you choose items from the list and bring them with you to the event. We have included the list below. The other way you can contribute is by entering our raffle at the party. We will be selling raffle tickets--the winners will each recieve a gift bag including items from all of our featured Boss Baes. All of the proceeds collected from raffle ticket sales will be used to purchase more items from the list.  We will be dropping off all of the items to the House of Ruth the following week prior to Christmas! We truly thank you for supporting us in this cause!
